I enjoy reading autobiographies and as soon as I heard Julie Goodyear had hers out, I planned to buy it. I have watched Coronation Street on and off since the 1970s and Julie played Bet Lynch (later Bet Gilroy), one of my all-time favourite characters. Julie has made plenty of headlines of her own over the years with her relationships, broken marriages and various scandals. But throughout everything, she seems to have kept her chin up, displayed a refreshing honesty and feistiness. I admire her for that. I bought this book at W H Smith in January.
