Newest Review: ... a book I wanted to keep on reading. It was proof-read well and had very few errors in. (I find it annoying when there are ... more  ... endless spelling mistakes. It feels like too much of a rush job!)
It also felt very honest and real and I could 'hear' her voice while reading. As we know, almost all autobiographies are written by ghost writers, which I don't necessarily mind, but it does feel awkward sometimes. Although the use of 'summat' in the text annoyed me, it definitely sounded like Julie's words, which helped me get into it easily.

I enjoy reading autobiographies and as soon as I heard Julie Goodyear had hers out, I planned to buy it. I have watched Coronation Street on and off since the 1970s and Julie played Bet Lynch (later Bet Gilroy), one of my all-time favourite characters. Julie has made plenty of headlines of her own over the years with her relationships, broken marriages and various scandals. But throughout everything, she seems to have kept her chin up, displayed a refreshing honesty and feistiness. I admire her for that. I bought this book at W H Smith in January.
