I'll be honest and say this is not a book that I would go for if I was shopping for books for my daughter (who's 2 ½), because there is no particular storyline and it is a pop-up/moving parts book which always have the potential to be pulled apart by my youngest daughter. Anyway, we had taken this out from our local library recently and it is now one of her favourites. On the last 3 visits to the library my daughter has continuously asked for Mr Croc and I have never had a clue what she has been going on about but have methodically searched the shelves with no luck... until last time. This book is aimed at pre-school children. -Style, Format and Illustrations - The book has thicker than usual pages but not quite as sturdy as a board book. The pages are very brightly coloured with pink, blue, yellow, purple and red backgrounds. It is a pop-up book which never fails to appeal to young children. There are six double page spreads across which Mr Croc spreads himself and pops up doing different actions when you slightly open and close the book, e.g. his eyes open and close and his hand moves up and down to wave.
