The Kama Sutra is a guide to help everyone, whether male or female, gain knowledge of the art of lovemaking. It was written nearly 2000 years ago by the Hindu sage Vatsyayana in the city of Benares on the River Ganges. Many have tried to translate the book of love into English; the original is probably still the best translation. The Kama Sutra (which means ‘aphorisms on love’) was originally transcribed to English in 1883 by two men, F F Arbuthnot and Sir Richard Burton. Arbuthnot thought the Kama Sutra would be a good way for the genteel Victorian male to learn about sex, and also thought it a good aid to help marriages stay strong and happy. ...

Hmmm... no one has attempted to write about this book, but I'm game for most things, hence the reason for having the manual in the first place. Manual? Yes. It's a manual. Not the car-fixing or computer type, but a manual about Love. And I also mean the capital L. The edition I possess is based on the 1883 translation by Sir Richard Burton (possibly a relative, I don't know..) and I can therefore get away with having it on the bookshelf as a representation of the naive attitude given to a sexually explosive book.
