Advantages: Good Firewood

Disadvantages: Terrible storyline

This book is dire. I have thoroughly enjoyed several of Claire Francis' previous books, including Deceit, A Dark Devotion and Betrayal. This effort has a poor story line; weakly sketched characters; a pathetic plot; and an unbelievably drab style of writing. I ploughed my way through to the end (as a matter of principle) and then immediately threw it in the bin. What a waste of money and a complete turn off for anyone reading a Francis novel for the first time. In fact the book is so bad, I wonder if Ms Francis is indeed the author?
