Tess Gerritsen is a veteran author of several "nasty, grisly, gripping murder books". Her background is in pathology / anthropology and she worked for many years as a medical examiner. It is no surprise that one of her main characters Maura Isles is a pathologist working on murder cases for the police department. Gerritsen's previous novels include The Surgeon, The Student, The Mephisto Club and several others which are all worth a read. I saw this book on the website www.readitswapit.co.uk when someone wanted to swap it for one of my books so I jumped at the chance and received a hard cover copy of this book. Where to ... In a word: Wow. I've just finished this book, after only two days of reading, and I want to read more! This is a brilliant book so I wanted to review it and suggest for anyone who wants a book that they can really get stuck into and swept away with into the dark world of murder and mystery. I've been reviewing a few crime/thriller novels lately as it's a genre I'm really getting into at the moment, and I was keen to read this book having already read & reviewed two other Gerritsen novels (including The Surgeon & The Memphisto Club).
