Advantages: Clear structure, review exercises

Disadvantages: mainly for use in classrooms, new addition isn't quite out yet!

This is a textbook used in most schools to teach key stage 3 geography (years 7 – 9).
The new addition of Interactions comes out very soon but schools are still using the original addition. This contains sections on: Natural environment, hazards (earthquakes, volcanos etc), tourism, Italy, USA and World Development. The current addition is well written and the language very clear. Each double page has review exercises to test learning and there is a very clear glossary at the back of the book. The exercises are meant to be accessible to all abilities with short answer questions as well as discussion questions.
This book is mainly designed to be used the classroom. However, if your child’s school use these books, but don’t issue them to the children to bring home it can be very worthwhile having a copy at home for them. That way if they aren’t happy with anything they did at school, they can look at it again independently. I am a teacher, so know just how affective this can be!
