My son has ... more  ... only been to two parties where he has received a party bag and wasn't sure what should go in it as I found a lot of party packs were inappropriate for my sons age and most of his friends.
There is a section which examines all aspects of cake making, different types of cakes, different types of cakes. The book examines different types of icing and how to best apply them. There is a page of hints and tips which for once isn't filled with things you already know or are common sense.

The kid's party ideas are a great resource for parents when creating a child's birthday party either to help with catering or themed party ideas. The book is written by Marion Haslam who wrote about the party Themes and Carol Deacon who focussed on the party cakes. I borrowed this book off a good friend after she had successfully made a fantastic fairy castle cake for her daughters birthday last year and I wanted to make something equally as special for my sons second birthday.
