Sophie Kinsella is brilliant in capturing the everyday women. Although, most are not that neurotic with shopping. But it does capture the shopping habits of women in general. I love it. I've read all four of the Shopaholic Series and it is brilliant!! (Confession of a Shopaholic, Shopaholic Takes Manhattan, Shopaholic Ties the Knot, and Shopaholic and Sister.) I cannot put the book down! I laugh, shake my head, and just have happy thoughts when reading the book. I'm finishing up "Can You Keep A Secret", and looking forward to her other series as Madeleine ... Read the complete review

^^^^^^^^ Shopaholic And Sister - Sophie Kinsella ^^^^^^^^ The only reason I ever buy books in shops at full price, rather than ordering them off the Internet, is if they're by one of my favourite authors, or I'm just desperate for something to read. This book fits into both those categories - I like the Shopaholic series and I bought it while at the airport waiting to board a 7 and a half hour flight over here, which is as important a time as any to have a book with you. Sophie Kinsella is a chick lit writer. The books she writes are formulaic, leave your brain at home books and are certainly never going to win any literary awards or become classics that poor school kids and students have to read in a 100 years time but I have to admit I like them. Sophie Kinsella is not actually Sophie Kinsella. Her real name is Madeline Wickham. She has the pen name as the books she writes under Madeline Wickham are more serious family based dramas. Sophie Kinsella is her middle name and her mother?s maiden name. The pen name was adopted so that he could get the first Shopaholic novel "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopaholic" ... When I received "The Secret Dreamworld of a Shopoholic" by Sophie Kinsella in a free gift pack that came with an issue of Cosmo, I thought it would be a stupis book aimed at young girls who have nothing better to do than to shop with their daddies money. However, I was very wrong. This book isn't geared towards young girls but rather late teens to early twenties. It is about a witty girl who sort of fell into the job of writing for a financial magazine and doesnt care at all about it. WHile not working, she spends every last dime of her pay check on the latest fashionable things and soon finds herself in debt. In order to pay them off, she must either make ...
