Advantages: children really seem to love them
Disadvantages: books are expensive
I recently borrowed Kipper's snowy day story book from my local sure start centre as over the last few months she has gone Kipper mad.
Kipper books are about a loveable dog and the adventures of him and quite often include his friend tiger, who is also a dog.
The books are written by Mick Inkpen who also writes the wibbly pig books.
The book are beautifully written and have fantastic drawings of kipper and friends.
This book is about the wonder of snow and all the types of things children enjoy doing when we do indeed get some.
Kipper embarks on making snow angels and throwing snowballs at his friend who has so many wooly clothes on making him an easy target.
These books really engage my daughter who will be 3 in december and she makes me read them over and over again. However as kipper books are such a joy to read, I really do not mind at all
The story is 24 pages long, but only half of these have writting on and the rest have the story in pictures.
Retail price of this particular Kipper book is £9.99 which I do think is a lot but all childrens books seem to be around this price.
The pages are paper and not card like some other kipper books.
Kipper stories are really a must have for any small child and this one is a great story.
Would make an ideal christmas present for a toddler.
Summary: We love kipper in this house.
