Kippers sticky paws.
I bought this book from the charity shop for Adrian. It is a board book with 10 pages about 170cm Square.

This book is about kipper the dog by Mick Ink pen. Mick Ink pen has written many children’s books and lots of them are about kipper the dog. This book is suitable for a baby who has only just been introduced to books to about a three four year old.

Kipper is sitting on the title pager his paws covered in honey. His friend Arnold looks on with a bemused look. Kippers has a hole in his white tummy peeping through it is some grey fur fabric. You can stroke kippers tummy before I open the book to tell you the story.

Opening the book on the first page are the words “Here are kipper and Arnold”
On the opposite facing page we see kipper the dog with his arm around his friend Arnold the pig.
Arnold is waving at us. Kipper has a blue and white striped jar in his other hand. Kipper’s tummy has a grey fur fabric stuck to it and it feels like stroking a dog.
Arthur the pig also has a fabric tummy it is a pink shiny smooth fabric and has been padded, do pigs feel like that? . Turn the page.

Oh dear “their paws are sticky can you see why” underneath this writing is the blue and white pot open and yellow (honey) pouring out of it. Kipper and Arthur sit smiling at us from the opposite page their paws are yellow and sticky, so is Arthur’s tummy.Their hands have a sticky yellow paper stuck to them. How does it feel? Oh go on touch it you know you want to. It feels sticky; do you think they have honey all over themselves? Lets turn the page.

We see Arthur carrying the pot with honey dripping over the edge oh and he has a butterfly perching on his nose. Opposite we see a picture of the butterfly it is a blue butterfly his wings are a shiny silky blue fabric it feels smooth.
Lets turn the page .now kipper needs a wash so does Arnold. We se
e Arnold washed with a dripping sponge held in his hand .On the opposite side we see kipper holding a big white towel. He is looking and smiling at kipper. Feel the towel do you think it will dry Arnold? Yes it feels rough a little like your bath towel turn over
“Arnolds face is clean again” “Is your face clean too?”
Look in the mirror kipper is holding on the opposite page. I can see my face can you see yours? Is it clean? No, well then lets go and gets washed then it really is time for bed, one more story? Well all right then after you have washed that dirty face and cleaned your teeth.
