This story is about the young Silvie who lives next door to her childhood best friend and sweetheart Carl, an articulate and good looking boy who lives with his mum, Jules, brother and dad. Unexpectadly one day in the school toilets, Miranda Holbein, an outrageous and popular girl in school, invites Sylvie to a party at her house after hearing about her boyfriend, Carl. After that, Miranda and Sylvie become good friends despite Mirandas pushiness, big mouth and desire for Carl. Carl, Miranda, Sylvie and Carls friend Paul start to go out a a group and on an outing to Kew gardens for Carls birthday, something goes wrong and Paul and Carl fall out. The truth behind the fight is devastating for Sylvie, but will it test their friendship?
It's just another of Jacqueline Wilsons brilliantly written books. Her way with words and understanding of teenage emotions make it brilliant to read. You can really understand and relate to the characters in the story, and she uses such a lot of in depth description about indivual characters, that you feel like you know them and it makes the book really good to read.
Again this is one of my daughters books but I've read it. It is aimed at teenagers and you can tell this from the lack of difficult language, but it is still really good and such an interesting read. I couldn't put it down, I just wanted to know what was going to happen next with Carl and Sylvie.
There's so much going on in the story with different characters I dont know how she manages to write the book so well and keep it all in order. It is really brilliant. 10/10, a must read for all teenage girls.

Summary: a great book.
