Kiss the Girls is a thriller novel by James Patterson. The story is about detective Alex Cross, who is trying to find his kidnapped niece Naomi, with the help of Kate McTiernan, a former victim of the kidnapper, a sexual predator who goes by the alias "Casanova." This is the second book in a series to feature Washington DC Homicide Detective and Dr. Alex Cross. The first book was Along Came A Spider.

I did not read the Alex Cross novels in order and this did in no way impede my enjoyment of any of the novels. The stories are easy to pick up, addictive, absorbing and frankly amazing. Patterson manages to do something that very few authors can achieve, he manages to get the reader into the mind of a criminal. The thoughts that are going through their heads as they commit some of the most grotesque crimes, some of the reasons why these crimes are committed and also how the criminal believes they shall escape capture, even from the great Alex Cross.

Kiss the Girls is no different. When you have a winning formula (like Patterson does) why change it?

The plot is absorbing and every chapter is a joy to read, the problem being that you can't put the book down and stop reading, "Just one more Chapter, just one more."

One draw back of this book is that the killer is a rapist, and Patterson, as in his other books, does not shy away from describing rape and torture like many other authors do. However one scene is particular sickening and in my opinion not needed, i wont' tell you the scene in case you wish to read it! Apart from that blip this book is a really good read and is definitely an original story and is worth staying up late to finish!

I would whole heartedly recommend any of the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson and would recommend purchasing the books from WHSmith (www.whsmith.co.uk) and take advantage of their frequent 3 for 2 offer.

It doesn't matter if you are an Alex Cross virgin, or god forbid and Patterson virgin, if you haven't read his books you need to; and fast!

Summary: go buy his books now!

His books are great. We obviously have some things in common! I haven't read this one yet. I started reading his books late. I'm catching up.
