Disadvantages: Not a great story line
I have to admit : I'm a big Danielle Steel Fan, but "The Klone and I" just wasn't the same for me as all her previous books had been.
The front cover of the book says, "Her wickedly funny number one bestseller" and I have to admit that, yes, there was some very funny parts in it, but lets put it this way, when I put down the book, I really had no desire to read it again! It wasn't one of those books that makes you want to stay awake all night reading.
THe story centers around Stephanie, who is deserted by her husband for a younger woman, leaving her with two children, alone. Then she meets Peter, some high tech kind of guy, who, after a period of time, manages to turn her world upside down along with his clone - to the extent that she is no longer sure of who she likes more - the Klone or Peter.
It all gets a little confusing at one point, well it did for me anyway.
I don't feel that it was one of Danielle Steel's best books, I think that many people have bought it just because of the author. If you are into all the serious romance that pulls at your heartstrings as most other Danielle Steel's books do - then don't get this one!
