Well this is going to be my last review on these books, for a while anyway. Knife of dreams is the eleventh book in the Wheel of time series by fantasy writer Robert Jordan. Originally this was supposed to be a twelve book series however after publishing this book Jordan's health failed and he died. A very sad time for his family and all his fans. So what would become of the end of the series, well its recently come out that his son along with a few other people have taken on the responsibility of finsihing the series. The eleventh instalment in Robert Jordan's immense fantasy saga begins as usual with a rapid-fire shuffle through the myriad secondary plot-lines that jostle for attention, with one or two of the primary plot-lines thrown in for good measure. It's a relief, in some measure, to finally renew acquaintance with some characters you last met a book back, or two books back, and you count yourself lucky if you remember, given the blizzard of names you have to keep in mind, just who some of these people are! Robert Jordan has finally written his penultimate book in the Wheel of Time series. Published in October 2005 by Orbit Books, “Knife of Dreams” has been eagerly awaited by his fans worldwide. I’d had the book on order since the pending release date, my local library is good for that. Unfortunately I hurt my back and couldn’t collect it straight away so the book went to the next person on the waiting list who kept it for six weeks. I finally held in my hands at the beginning of February but put off reading it until I knew I had a few days free to read it in maybe three sittings.
