Advantages: Insightful yet confusing!

Disadvantages: Frustrating

I have been reading plays and going to the theatre seriously for about 8 years now. I am somewhat annoyed that I have only just come into contact with Harold Pinter and his works, as I feel I have missed out so much. He is such an insirational, witty, clever man, and his plays just blow my mind. Landscape, in particular, is such a magnificent comment on society that I haev never come across in a play text before. Pinter writes so matter-of-factly, so stright to the point. the pauses and silencences add huge dramatic tension and atmosphere to the story. Who are these people? What has happened to them? It amazes me. Please read Pinter, Landscape, The Homecoming and Mountain Language are each as bizarre and addictive as each other. I am in the process of staging Landscape and although it is hard work to interpret, I know it will be amazing!!

Summary: Worth a look.
