I m a big kid at heart and I still adore fairy tales. So when someone told me that "Out of Breath" by Julie Myserson is essentially a fairy tale for adults, I knew I had to read it. And I wasn t disappointed, although this is definitely the kind of fairy tale that could give you nightmares. It s essentially a coming of age novel, but is quite unlike any I ve read before. The story is told in first person and the prose has a beautiful haunting quality to it, as if you know that something dark is going to happen. It had me hooked from the moment I read the first line. weather is grim! So I walked round to the autobiography section and found the smallest book which looked interesting. This is what I found: Not a games person Julie Myerson I thought I hated school Physical Education lessons. It seems my fears were minuscule compared to the author (Julie). One also feels it s a bit over the top and dramatised. The whole book focus on games lessons at school. I m not an insensitive person, the complete opposite in fact.
