I love Nigella Lawson. I saw her on tv before I bought any of her books, like many people I'm sure. As a curvy 50s housewife style lady myself I was immediatly drawn to her. She has a great tv personality - she looks fantastic and really flirts with the camera. I know a lot of people think she's over the top but I don't mind, tv cooking needs a bit of that! Who would ever have thought it? Me, the culinary queen of toast and take-aways, actually having a cookbook on my birthday list last year? Now what a shocker that was, and not just for the recipients of said list. See, I was hooked after seeing the Nigella Bites series on TV, she was sooo glamorous, so competent, and the food looked so good. And as a result, I now have each of her three cookbooks, and I actually use them, rather than just drooling over the pictures (although I do that as well). I have just purchased How To Eat for my wife for Xmas. I think that I might be doing more of the cooking now we have this book! At first glance I thought it was gonna be another one of those patronising books in the genre of Delia Smith! "How To Eat" I mean come on.... BUT Nigella has blended simplicity with her wealth of knowledge in such a way that you are inspired without the "God I couldn't possibly do that!" aspect. One of the other positive features of this book is the lack of pictures/photos of the food. This to some people maybe a turn off but for me it sets a statement.... Here's a recipe follow ...
