By and large there are fewer professions with a dimmer witted set of representatives than the football player. Thousands of interviews with Motty and Links have generated little but grunts of "Over the moon, Brian," and "It's a game of two halves," and you could be forgiven for wondering what these guys would be doing if they hadn?t been blessed with footballing ability. Sure, some like David Beckham (complete with laughably unflattering Alice band) might have made a decent living out of male modelling, but without the charisma earned by being able to bend a ball from range even Becks might have struggled to have excited some attention. ...
