      Left Bank - Kate Muir

      ...

Kate Muir wrote this in 2006. We start the book in the world of Olivier and Madison Malin. and their daughter. This is a family which many of us probably dream of and their lifestyle. Yes the Celibrity life style. I certainly would not like it but others may. Madison is a Film Star and she comes from Texas but she cleverly disguises her accent.
Olivier her husband is a philosopher and also a Media Personality.
Now as one reads the book you find that it appears normal but wait until the Nanny arrives then who is English. Anna arrives at the doors of Rue Du Bac apartment and without realising what was happening sets of various events that happen will threaten the Madsion's life style.

Again she is a new Author in which this is the first book that I have read but also it is very enjoyable. In parts I did find difficult but on the whole a good read. I think one would need a little more time spent on reading the book to begin with just to get into the story.

Enter the world of Olivier and Madison Malin, the glittering inhabitants of Paris's most exclusive neighbourhood, the Left Bank. The Malins' life together with their daughter is the stuff of dreams -- and carefully-selected celebrity magazines. Madison is an American film star: her beauty, talent and perfect accent hiding her Texan roots, and the fact she's just turned forty (although that actually happened several years ago). Her husband, Olivier, is the darling of the sophisticated Left Bank: philosopher, gourmand and media personality, he craves adoration (and is a little too willing to return it). Everything seems perfect -- if a touch pretentious -- right up until the moment a new English nanny, Anna, appears at the imposing doors of their Rue du Bac apartment. Gamine and artless, Anna unwittingly sets in motion a chain of events that will gravely endanger the Malins' daughter and their charmed lives - in ways no-one could have foreseen...
