Let's Go with the Children Guides (Let's Go)

Advantages: Excellent for sourcing things to do in your local area Disadvantages: If you happen to be bordering more than one county you may need to buy 2 guides
These are an absolute godsend for the summer holidays. Basically the books are divided up into areas of the country (usually covering a couple of counties) and are a complete guide to places of interest and things you can do with your kids. It includes map references, price guides and contact telephone numbers, opening times and days. The things you will find listed are things like Boat and Train trips, Castles, Museums, Historic Sites, Theme and Play Parks, Farms and Wildlife Parks, and places and activities that offer free family entertainment and enjoyment. This last section is my favourite, as it can be very costly to keep your kids amused during the long summer holiday from school, and they will probably enjoy just as much a trip to a Country Park, a Woodland, a Museum, or an Animal Rescue Shelter. There is also a directory of Activities and Information, where you can find your nearest Cinema, Ten Pin Bowling, Karting, Laser, Swimming and Water Sports Facility. The only thing they haven't got which I would like to see is Children Friendly pubs and restaurants (although some of the pub chains with soft play facilities are included). Summary: |
