This was another favourite in my daughter’s parents-and-tots class even before she turned two, and she still loves the book. Little Bird sitting in her nest becomes more and more dejected as a series of animals come by, each boasting about some special thing that they can do and Little Bird can’t. Lion can roar, frog can jump over a log, spider can spin a web, and so on. Each time, Little Bird feels sad. But then she remembers that there is a very special thing that she can do that none of the other animals can – and off she soars into the sky.
