Little Miss Christmas is one of 18 stories in the Mr Men and Little Miss books with added Sparkle collection. The reason these books are called with added sparkle is the fact that all of the front covers have something glittery or sparkly or shimmery about them. I must add at this point however that despite being a huge Mr Men and Little Miss fan I wasn't immediately aware of the existence of these books and to be truly honest have only recently begun to purchase them. I bought this one just after Christmas due to the fact that I had a small thought I might have gotten it for Christmas but unfortunately didn't. I purchased my copy from Asda and paid only £2 ... I was first introduced to the Little Miss series of books when my daughters were very young & could never bear to part with them. Adam Hargreaves ( the son of the late Roger) has a good style of writing & often appeal to adults as well as younger folk as they can be read on more than one level. He has also illustrated this book. My eldest daughter (now 21) bought me a copy of Little Miss Christmas as an extra seasonal present last year & I often pick it up for a chuckle! Present...Christmas.... OH FORGET IT!). Little miss Christmas is sister to Mr Christmas and niece to Father Christmas. Her job is to wrap all the presents up for her uncle before the inevitable delivery on Christmas eve, this of course keeps her extremely busy. Although little miss Christmas loves Christmas time, wrapping that many presents can get a little boring..... Even for her! So after a little deliberation she decides to take a well deserved ... In 1971, Roger Hargreaves created the Mr Men, after his son, Adam, had asked him what a tickle looked like. Mr Tickle was the first of over 40 Mr Men books, and in 1981, Hargreaves added the Little Miss series as well. Both series were continued by Adam following Roger's death in 1988, and a few years ago, at the same time as publishing Mr Christmas, Adam published Little Miss Christmas as well. Little Miss Christmas is very similar to Mr Christmas in that she is a triangular green shape, much like a Christmas tree. She has red gloves and red and white boots with orange hair. In the story, Little Miss Christmas and her brother, Mr Christmas, are busy helping ... Read the complete review
