The other night I read a magical and funny story to Toby, It is book number 9 from the Little Miss book collection, it is a small paperback book which contains 32 pages, with writing on the left side and a bright bold picture on the right. This story is all about Little Miss Magic, the magic she can do and how she helped Mr Happy on a day when he was feeling not so happy. Little Miss Magic lives in Abracadabra Cottage and uses magic to do everyday tasks such as brush her teeth, make her breakfast and opening doors. Basically Mr Happy went to see Little Miss Magic one day to tell her all about Mr Tickle and how he was tickling every body, not just ... Read the complete review

In my new quest to re-read all off my Little Miss and Mr Men stories the book I am about to review was the latest one I picked up. Before I begin however I'll introduce you to the collection as a whole. Both the Mr Men and Little Miss collections of books have been firm favourites with children for many years. Originally written by Roger Hargreaves his son Adam now writes them and at the present moment the Mr Men series contains 46 books and the Little Miss series contains 33 books. It isn't however just the books that have brought them to fame as their image is now far greater than that. These loveable characters can be found on duvet covers and curtains, ... In any other story Little Miss Magic would be a witch in a black cloak with an equally black cat. Roger Hargraves has bypassed all the usual sterotypes to stick with his trademark yellow balls with feet and faces. Little Miss Magic, the occupant of Abracadabra cottage, can do all the usual witchy tricks. She can make her toothpaste come out of the tube just by telling it to, she can tell the toaster to make toast and the butter to spread itself on it and the kettle to boil and make tea but thats nothing out of the ordinary for small minds. When a child shouts toast mummy miraculously places it on a plate in front of the child and the same with juice, stories and so on. ... Read the complete review

Little Miss Magic is the 9th Little Miss book. Roger Hargreaves created the Mr Men in 1971. Ten years later, he created the Little Misses as well, off the back of the success of the Mr Men. They are lovely books, which I enjoyed when I was a kid. My son prefers the Mr Men books as he can relate to them more being a male, but they're still very good. Little Miss Magic is small and a mix of orange and brown colours, with an innocent green bow on her head. In the story, she uses magic for pretty much everything: cleaning her teeth, getting dressed, making her breakfast, and she uses her magic to open the door when someone knocks on it. Mr Happy has come to see ... Read the complete review
