Since Mr Tickle our house has become a haven for the Mr Men and Little Miss storybooks (as well as DVD but that is for another review). They are great fun to read and are always a hit at bedtime (for both my son who enjoys them and me because they are short and offer interaction). Little Miss Helpful is number 8 in the little Miss collection. She is a smiley purple Little Miss with yellow hair tied in a bun and a matching nose. She also wears a pair of slightly high-heeled white and green shoes. As her name suggests, she likes to be helpful and will help anyone. The only problem is that she often hinders rather than helps. She helps Mr tall ...  Read the complete review

First impressions of this story would lead you into thinking that this is all about a Little Miss and how helpful she is, but you will be mistaken. Little Miss Helpful, tries to help several friends with jobs, but actually ends up making a right old mess of it and you would almost wish she hadn't tried in the first place. During this story Little Miss Helpful, tries to tie Mr Talls undone shoelaces, but ends up tying them together, as he falls over and hurts himself she gets a plaster and sticks it over his mouth. She followed on from that by ripping it off and hurt Mr Tall even more. when offering to help again he shouted at her to 'Go ...  Read the complete review

Little Miss Helpful is number 8 in the Little Miss collection written by Roger Hargreaves. The collection contains 33 stories; with each one being written about a different character loved the world over by children and adults alike. Each book is printed in the same way with writing on the left hand side of the book and cheery and colourful pictures on the right hand side that engage the attention of younger children. The back cover of each book is also the same and consists of pictures of all 33 characters in the series along with their names and numbers. This makes it easy to keep track of which stories you have read and which you have yet to do so. The ...  Read the complete review

Premium Review To be helpful, or not to be helpful! (284 words)
by - written on 10/10/08 (Very useful, 7 readings)

Little Miss Helpful is the 8th Little Miss book. Roger Hargreaves created the Mr Men in 1971. Ten years later, he created the Little Misses as well, off the back of the success of the Mr Men. They are lovely books, which I enjoyed when I was a kid. My son prefers the Mr Men books as he can relate to them more being a male, but they're still very good. Little Miss Helpful is bright purple with neat orange hair. In the story, she tries to be the most helpful person she can to all the other Mr Men and Little Miss. Unfortunately, she ends up being completely unhelpful! She helps tie Mr Tall's shoelaces back up when they come undone, but ends up tying them ...  Read the complete review
