Little Miss Star is the 18th Little Miss book. Roger Hargreaves created the Mr Men in 1971. Ten years later, he created the Little Misses as well, off the back of the success of the Mr Men. They are lovely books, which I enjoyed when I was a kid. My son prefers the Mr Men books as he can relate to them more being a male, but they're still very good. The Little Miss Series of books written by Roger Hargreaves began in 1981 with Little Bossy and now includes 33 books each written about a different and colourful Little Miss character. Some are definitely more famous than others but they are all without a doubt extremely popular and well loved. Little Miss Star is number 18 in the Little Miss collection and is one of the less popular characters. Now I'm not sure whether this is because people find her story uninteresting or whether it is simply because other characters are more intriguing and colourful and therefore more saleable as merchandise than she is.
