Advantages: Increased understaning of Africa

Disadvantages: long

Do you know what it's like to be born black when white people are running the country your people have occupied for centuries? Can you understand the anger that can build up inside a man at his family being treated like lesser beings? To be born with prejudice and to live to end it. That is what Nelson Mandela's life and book is about.

From earliest memories as a boy in a tribal village to release from prison Mandela speaks of his life, family, politics, how he lived for his country at the cost of his health and marriages.

His views arn't always ones I can agree with but I can understand the anger and frustrations behind them.

One of the greatest men in our time, one book you should read.
