Advantages: Good read, funny

Disadvantages: Not much happens

This is the autobiography of Alan Carr, the very camp comedian/TV presenter. Alan is only in his thirties, so possibly a bit too young to be writing an autobiography, but I quite like him and it was a present!

As he's only been famous for a few years, the vast majority of the book is about his childhood and twenties. Usually, this bores me to tears, I like the famous bit, but I actually quite enjoyed this.

Nothing much actually happens, he had a fairly normal childhood, went to uni and had some crappy jobs, went travelling, had another crap job and started to make it as a comedian. There's a few bits and bobs from his first bit of being famous.

But it's all told really well and he does have some amusing anecdotes. He's just naturally funny. His tales of his demented childhood cat and life in a call centre did have me chuckling.

The photos (bless him!) are also really funny! It's a really easy, light-hearted read and I finished it in about a day. I don't know how much the book cost because it was a present, but I'm sure it's not too expensive.

All in all, quite a good read!

Summary: Alan Carr's book is worth reading
