Alan Carr has been one of my favourite comedians, and presenters since seeing him on The Friday Night Project. I'm a fan of innuendos and his camp humour so when I saw he had an autobiography out I rushed out to the library so I could read it. It starts off by explaining his life now in the public eye - it tells me what I already know ...  Read the complete review

This book is fantastic for once it made me laugh and is written exactly how you would expect Alan Carr to do a comedy sketch I could almost imagine him saying every word. Its was really good to read how he started out and also you can see where he got some of his inspiration from for his sketches. Its was sad to read that Alan had suffered at the ...  Read the complete review

After hearing nothing but the best said about this book I decided to use some of my hard earned amazon vouchers to buy a copy for myself, just to see what all the fuss was about! Premium Review It's Alan Carr's autobiography! (216 words)
by - written on 19/10/09 (Very useful, 31 readings)
Rating:

This is the autobiography of Alan Carr, the very camp comedian/TV presenter. Alan is only in his thirties, so possibly a bit too young to be writing an autobiography, but I quite like him and it was a present! As he's only been famous for a few years, the vast majority of the book is about his childhood and twenties. Usually, this bores ...  Read the complete review

To buy this book I stood in a que for two hours to get it signed by Alan himself. I would have still waited for two hours to get this book without meeting Alan as it is an exceptionally funny biography and would be well worth the wait. As a fan of his stand up I was suprised as to how he managed to remain funny through his book. There is ...  Read the complete review

Ever wonder where those buck teeth and glasses came from, or how the king of comedy "came out" to his parents? If you like the crude taunts that Alan heckels at the auidience on stage and his warped sence of humor then this book is one for you. I recieved it for christmas and could not put it down. The book depicts his life under ...  Read the complete review

'Look Who It Is! My Story' is Alan Carr's first book in which he details his life, from his childhood growing up with his mum, brother, and football manager dad (not to mention the family pets Minstral, and the terrifying Big Puss), right up to his performance at the Royal Variety Show in 2005. The book's recommended price is £7.99 but ...  Read the complete review

I'm not the biggest Alan Carr fan but I saw this on special offer so decided to give it a go and I was pleasantly surpised. The book is in the from of a traditional biography starting with his childhood memories and university experiences before going on to reminisce about his struggle to find a worthwhile carreer before finding his big comedy ...  Read the complete review

I got this book for Christmas, I don't find many comedians funny, maybe I'm just miserable! But I love Alan Carr. This book was everything I had hoped for, it was witty, camp and very real. As with most people in the industry Alan had to work his way up and struggled at times, and in a way it's quite heartwarming and makes you ...  Read the complete review

Look who it is! does just as you'd expect, as camp and funny as you like! I love Alan Carr and the his comedy and this book is just more of what I love about this man! His way with words is just fantastic, he's one of those people who can make anything sound funny just by the words and the way in which he says it. This book really shows everyone who reads it who the real Alan Carr is, and perhaps unsurprisingly he is just the same as he is on stage as he is off stage! His natural ability to have a comic effect, in my opinion started early on in his childhood. I believe now, since reading this, Alan doesn't just simply create exciting stories to capture the ...  Read the complete review

Express Review on Look Who it Is!: My Story - Alan Carr
by Alan Carr - written on 02/03/09
Rating:

I found this book very funny. Through the book i can see how he is so funny now, as everything he wrote about in the book was mainly funny. The beginging of the book starts off on a funny note, " I seemed to spend most of my chilhood breathless, touching trees." setting the mood to enjoy this book. He was disappointed that he did not follow the dreams his father set out for him, but he was pleased with what it ended up. There were times in this book were i did feel saddend by his childhood. I love watching the programmes he does, so there was no question about why i loved the book. I enjoyed this book because it just shows that he is the funny man that he shows on tv and isn't just told what to say.

I found this book insightful to the life of Alan Carr but also halrious! I learnt many new things from reading this book and although as said before there were times when I was in stitches there were also times when I felt saddened and touched by his early child hood. Alan's writing skills however means that the story never becomes to heavy ...  Read the complete review

It's been a relatively short space of time since Alan Carr first became prominent on our TV screens on Channel 4's The Friday Night Project, which he first hosted on the 6th January 2006 with co host Justin Lee Collins. Alan Carr is a top comedian. I very much enjoyed his recent stand up show Tooth Fairy and I am a massive fan of the Friday/Sunday Night Project depending on who the guest host is. When a comedian/TV presenter releases an autobiography, I always approach with caution as their writing style may be weak or flawed as I have experienced with ...  Read the complete review
