Advantages: Awesome Story
Disadvantages: None
Lord of Chaos is the sixth book in the epic series from fantasy writer Robert Jordan. The Wheel of time is a true epic in every sense, half way through the series now Jordan really delivers an excellent book.
This book was released in October of 1994, thats a year since the previous book. That's along time to wait when your reading these books. Jordan is brilliant at building the anticipation at the end of his books, readers can't wait to get into the next book. Because of this the book was another big hit for Jordan and really secured his place in the writing world.
This book follows on from the fifth book The fires of heaven. You need to have read all the books in the series for this one to make sense, there are lots of bits of the story you need to understand before you get into this one.
So this book start off with the usual prologue, which as usual is quite confusing and doesn't really make sense till later on in the book when we have a few more bits of information.
The main story follows Morgase who has returned to Andor, but in the process is kidnapped by the Children of the Light.
Meanwhile Rand is approached by two sets of Aes Sedai who are both trying to win favour with him as the Dragon reborn.
We also go back to hear about Perrin. He is back in Edmonds Field but is feeling the pull of Rand and so he return to be back with his friend and retakes his place in the story.
Matt is off on his own again looking for Elayne and finds out some surprising news when he does find her. News that will really change everything!
Yet again there are stories here there and everywhere in this book. But unlike some of the others they all flow together very well. Jordan seems to have a specific target that he is guiding the reader towards and all the lines of story head swiftly in that direction.
I think this is one of the best books in the series. The story really moves at an alarming pace. There is so much going on and it really is an exciting read. Jordan has perfected his craft and it really comes thorugh well in this book, his story telling reaches it's peak. He has a wondeful way of describing the action that really makes it come alive.
we are reaquainted with some old characters in this book and also meet some new ones, Jordan is very good at helping us get to know the characters and helping us to really feel there emotions.
This is another great book, one of my favorties of the series and is one that everyone who enjoys these kinds of books should enjoy. Go and get yourself a copy and enjoy this one!
Summary: A brilliant book
