Aleksandar Hemon is a Bosnian now living in America, and as such he presents an outside view of a familiar culture and subject. This book is a selection of short stories focussing on marginal characters. While the premise of this book appealed, I found the writing style extremely difficult to wade through. The book has a plethora of bad language, which distracted me from the content of the stories. It is rare I do not finish a book, however I could not enjoy the stunted, uneven pace of the writting.
