I think I read one review about 'Love, etc' before I ordered it but it didn't deter me. If I had known then what I know now I might not have bothered. Thankfully I ordered 3 books for £12.99 from QPD - which means this book cost me £4.33. ABOUT JULIAN BARNES Julian Barnes is a British writer, born in Leicester in 1946. I couldn’t believe what I saw when I looked up the opinions on Barnes, only five all in all, none about Love, etc! The media tell me that he’s one of your three contemporary literary biggies, together with Martin Amis and Ian McEwan. His work has been translated into 30 languages, he was shortlisted for the Booker (for the novel Flaubert’s Parrot, his greatest success so far) and was the first Englishman in France to win both the Prix Médici and the Prix Fémina.
