Bella Kreuzer is still single, following the death of her boyfriend Patrick over a year ago. However she doesn't want to fall in love again. She moves house into another town and another job in order to escape memories, and certainly isn't looking for love. She gets a job as a graphics designer for selling things, although her passion for art comes through when she hires a garden designer for her new house, who nags her to contact some galleries for her work. This novel follows the life of Bella, written from her point of view as she moves house and job to escape her old life. Her house is not sorted for a long time meaning she still has a lot of clutter ... Read the complete review

A free book is always a good thing as far as I'm concerned. For the price of a magazine (most commonly £2.70) I got something I can flick through (in this instance 'She') as well as a book to pass some time. Bargain! The only problem with these women's magazine freebies is that sometimes they are dire, not good enough to wipe your bum on! With that in mind I didn't have high expectations of 'Love is a Four Letter Word.' High hopes can often lead to great disappointment, which is probably why this book pleasantly surprised me. The central character, Bella, is someone most women can relate to in some way. I am a fellow list writer, ... Read the complete review

This was another book my dad gave to me, and again, was from an author I hadn't heard of, but one I liked the sound of from the blurb on the back, so I thought I'd give it a try. ~The Story~ Belle is exhausted, and feeling very stressed out by her job in London and when she collapses, her doctor tells her to take a few weeks off and rest. Belle uses the time to visit her best friend Viv and boyfriend Nick in Kent, and Viv persuades Belle that perhaps she should think about moving there too - to get away from the stresses of her life. Belle decides that this may be a good idea, as going home to the empty flat she once shared with her ... Read the complete review

Not the most original title for a romance novel, I'll say that. But that's about as far as criticisms go as far as this book is concerned. 'Love Is A Four Letter Word' tells the story of Bella, a complex character whose happiness and sadness seems to bound from one extreme to the other, taking you with her. Bella is still struggling to overcome the grief of losing a previous partner who died in tragic circumstances, when she meets Will. At the same time, she is trying to overcome and make sense of her disastrous relationship with her mother. You will be completely absorbed by the journey they all take. Possibly the most heart-wrenching ... Read the complete review
