Jacqueline Wilson is a fantastic author, most certainly one of my favourites around! She has such a unique style, and has a way of capturing her reader's attention. One of the books I have enjoyed is Love Lessons. In Love Lessons, Prue's father is rushed into hospital, so she and her sister are made to go to a local comprehensive compared to her usual home-schooling. Although she found it hard to fit in, she did take to one of her teachers, all too well, and an affair began to spark. Can they keep it hidden, or will their flame be blown out? The Author Jacqueline Wilson has sold over 20 million books in the UK alone. She always wanted to be a writer and wrote her first "novel" when she was nine. Jacqueline has been on countless shortlists and has won many awards, including the Smarties Prize, and the Children's Book Award. In June 2002 Jacqueline was given an OBE for services to literacy in schools. She is the most borrowed author from public libraries. Here I am almost 8 years later and I still think ... Read the complete review

"Love Lessons", written by famous award-winning child novelist, Jacqueline Wilson, and illustrated by Nick Sharrat, is a story for young teenagers about the hardships of fitting into new crowds, the stress and complications of strict parents, and the all important teenage 'first love'. Which some of you may still have memories of. Fourteen year old Prudence, more commonly known in the story as Prue, lives with her mum, dad, and little sister in her small house above her father's book store. Prue and her little sister, are not very sociable as they both are home-schooled and do not enjoy the many luxuries such as, fast foods, televisions, bought ... Read the complete review
