Advantages: Different from any other book I have read

Disadvantages: Parts are difficult and uncomfortable to read

This was a very interesting fictional book, different from anything else I have read. Firstly as soon as the book starts you are faced with the rape and murder of a 14 year old girl, you are even told who the murderer is (George Harvey). The remaining book is narrated by the murdered girl (Suzie salmon) as she observes life from heaven.

Although I can appreciate that this is well written book, I didn't personally enjoy it as much as other books I have read. However my friend claims it is the best book ever; perhaps it depends on how much interest you have on the afterlife.

Towards the end of the book there is a sex scene that I found a little confusing and inappropriate, even my friend who thoroughly enjoyed the book said she found this part a little weird. This is not the only part that is a little uncomfortable to read, but there are also parts that are emotional, and some that make you smile. Although I wouldn't rush to read it again, I would advise others to read just to experience a piece of Alice Seabolds fantastic author abilities.

I am looking forward to the film being released in January 2010.
