This is the first of Marian Keyes books I have read and I must say I will probably not read another. The storyline, characters etc are all of what I look for in a book, however, it was just too long and too predictable. I understand most 'chic lit' is very predictable but once you have worked out what is going to happen you haven't still got 300 ... Read the complete review

"Lucy Sullivan Is Getting Married" is one of the best reads I've had for a long time. It's obvioulsy about a woman called Lucy (well fancy that) but to be honest it's so well written that it could be you within those pages! Yes that does include all the males out there! I'm not a fast reader, but I completed this book in ... Read the complete review

I love reading and always have a book on the go, this was my last book to read before the one I'm up to now. I'd had it in my cupboard for months, I'd tried reading it once before but I couldn't seem to get into it, I was going my A Levels at the time and had more important things to think about, so I never even got past the thrid chapter. ... An avid reader in gineral, this was my first venture into Marian Keyes books...and also the one that got me hooked. The book is well written, full of one liners and anecdotes, but also shows a deeper side to the characters without getting melodramatic about the story. The characters are true to life, and Ms Keyes shows off the good and bad ... Read the complete review

This was my third attempt at reading this book, and I am usually not so persistent. At first glance Lucy Sullivan is Getting Married by Marian Keyes is going to be one of those, oh so predictable ?girly? books, but I don?t know what it is about the book but I felt that it was a book that I should ... Lucy Sullivan - average twenty-something lass, stuck in a run-of-the-mill job, has a dysfunctional family - goes to visit a psychic who predicts she will marry within eighteen months. Although she seems less than impressed by the idea, it somehow takes over her, creeping into all her thoughts - even presuming the most unreliable of men to be her ... Read the complete review

I bought this book as a gift for a friend of mine to cheer her up as she had been having an all round bad time with one thing or another(Men mostly!!) I hoped that she would read it quickly and then let me borrow it back, but it didn’t quite work out that way, infact I don’t know if she has finished reading it yet!! ... Read the complete review

Perhaps its because I have children, but I truly appreciate my reading leisure time more than I ever did before. That's why I was relieved to discover how much I enjoyed "Lucy Sullivan". I also loved "Briget Jones' Diary", and apart from the fact that both characters are British, "Lucy" is defiantly not trying ... Read the complete review

This was my second Marian Keyes book. The first one I read was Watermelon which I must admit I did prefer. Unlike Watermelon this book centres on the exploits of only 1 girl called Lucy. It traces her ups and downs through love, relationships, work and flatmates. The story was all about the search for Mr right and all the horrible frogs you ... Read the complete review

Lucy Sullivan is getting married is written by the highly talented Marian Keyes who has also written "Rachel's Holiday" and the current bestseller "Last Chance Saloon", both of which are excellent reads! The plot is basically around Lucy, who decides to take action and ditches her boyfriend, leaves home and starts ... Read the complete review

A great contemporary novel with real wit and humour. It follows the classic romantic framework of all good books but has plenty of extras thrown. The second book from Marian Keyes, this book made me laugh and it made me cry. It’s light-hearted and as long as you don’t expect too much from it, then you will thoroughly enjoy ...
