There has been some good-natured (?) banter recently amongst certain members of the dooyoo community about which of us has the right to claim the title of Stephen King's 'number 1 fan'. Now, I don't wish to re-open any old wounds, but I do regard Stephen King as the master of horror writers - hence he becomes my benchmark in submitting a review of 'Lucy's Child' by Shaun Hutson. Could Hutson ever measure up to the 'Master'? (Could anyone?) Some years ago, I bought and read some of Hutson's earlier horror novels (Slugs, Spawn etc) - and I hated them. With a passion.
