 ... war-torn and out of the way nations. Indeed there is a section in the book about how when in Afghanistan Osama bin Laden had tried to pay money to get him killed. I enjoyed reading the book, but I would say that I found that the stories he had to tell did skip around the world and around time periods quite a lot. I suspect that this was because most of the stories were written in his first auto-biography and so this was a much more challenging title for him to write. This book is the second volume of John Simpson's auto-biography and is a fascinating story of his days as a news reporter from around the world. It's a few years old now, although still very relevant given the crisis in the world, as it was published in 2001. My paperback edition was published by Pan Books and the ISBN is 0330355678. The book is currently available for 5.99 pounds from Amazon, but there are lots of cheaper second-hand editions available for less.
