'Mama, Do You Love Me?' is a story about the relationship between an Inuit mother and daughter and consequently, is about the relationships between mothers and daughters everywhere. When I first picked it up and read some of the pages it made me come over all maternal and I thought it would be a beautiful book to read with my daughter. The cover picture shows mother and daughter in their umiak, which is a kind of boat, the name of which I discovered means 'woman's boat,' as opposed to kayak, which means 'man's boat'.
