Advantages: Unique, unpredictable
Disadvantages: Sad in places
After reading various reviews I decided to buy this book, and I was not disappointed.
The story is about a guy who becomes a Dad and (I suppose) like any other wonders how good a Father he will be, and if he will match that of his Father. He sees his Dad as a hero and is forever worried that he wont meet that standard for his son.
As he approaches the big 3.0. Harry starts to panic that his life is going before his eyes, he buys a flash sports car and has a one night stand with some one from work. From that moment on his life starts to go wrong. His Wife goes over seas and he has to learn how to be a single parent, but reagardlss of this his love for his son stays strong.
Tony Parsons writes this story beautifully, every emotion is written well and reads even better. It is witty and sad, it is totally unique, both in story and style.
