Rating:
A book hyped up as "the epic must-read for the nineties", including extensive coverage in TIME magazine, is just screaming to be snubbed. In fact, it was published in 1998, and yours truly has put off buying it until last month. But alas, any book-snob aspirations I may have are destined to remain such, for my morbid curiosity and fetish for anything black on paper (preferably, though not necessarily, bound in some form - I've been known to read loose sheets when nothing else was immediately available to satiate my craving) drove me slowly but surely towards the "W" shelves...
