If you haven`t discovered Stephen Hunter yet, you`re missing out on a brilliant author. The Master Sniper is a novel set during the Second World War, and focuses on the Nazis urgent need to acquire a silent sniper rifle that will also have the added capability of night vision. The allies are alerted to the rush to achieve this weapon quite by accident, when a Jewish prisoner escapes almost certain death simply by devising a method of trying to stay warm. His self-made insular coat renders him invisible to the crude thermal imaging device used during one of the snipers testing sessions, and the prisoner makes a dash for freedom as soon as he has ...
