Maw Broon needs no introduction; she is the matriarch of the famous Broon family who generations of Scots have grown up loving. Feeding her family consisting of Paw, Hen, Joe, Maggie, Daphne, Horace, The Twins and The Bairn with Grandpaw popping round frequently must have been a mammoth task but like all good housewives of her time she managed to keep them all well fed on a modest budget. I have been wanting this cookbook for a while, I love the Broon's and I like to read them every week in the Sunday post, so I was very pleased to receive this for my Christmas! I think the book has a great look about it, it looks like an old and well loved (and used) family cookbook, the look is carried on throughout the book where the recipes look like they have been cut out of magazines or handwritten by other people. It also is covered in 'stains' and drawings by the 'bairns' which add to its well loved family feel. The inscription at the start of the book reads "Maw Broon's Cookbook, A gift to my dear daughter-in-law on her wedding day, ...
