... book before he'd finished writing and publishing all of the books in this series. This series is called "Maximum Ride". "The Angel Experiment" is the first novel in the series. I got quite annoyed at the end, as all your questions did not become resolved, that's left to the next book, or could it be left to the very last book? I really don't have a clue. This book is about 6 children called, Max (This book is from his perspective), Fang, Iggy, Nudge, the Gasman and Angel. These kids are nex...more

Premium Review Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment - James Patterson: To fly, these children don't need broomsticks (766 words)

Rating:

James Patterson is well known for his writing skills as an adult's author. 2 years ago, however, I had not heard of him, so when I first saw this book on the 3 for 2 offer in Waterstones, I read the back to see if this author was any good. And it sounded really inspiring and intriguing. Only, when I went in a few weeks later, I noticed all the James Patterson books everywhere and was surprised that the author had endeavoured into a child's mind, as it is supposedly really quite hard for an adult's author to write a children's novel. He grabbed my attention throughout this book, however there was one major problem, which was that the chapters were 1-3 pages long, so it ...  Read the complete review

Following the success of the two novels, When The Wind Blows and its sequel The Lake House, James Patterson decided to continue the story in a number of further sequels, starting with this one. The target audience changed as he started to write these with young adults in mind. To date, he has written a further three sequels, bringing the series of books to 5 in total, the original two and then three sequels for the young adult. Each of these book are entitled Maximum Ride, and then a further part of the title. In Maximum Ride: The Angel Experiment, we follow on the story of the 6 young adults who were the guinea pigs of scientific experiments leaving them 98% ...  Read the complete review

Maximum Ride - The Angel Experiment by James Patterson..... James Patterson was once my favourite author but I have since moved on and after reading one of his more recent novels decided that his style is no longer one I enjoy to read. However on a recent trip to the library I noticed this book which was a sort of follow on to two of his previous books, When The Wind Blows and The Lake House, and I just couldn't help but give it a go. The story follows a group of six children of different ages who are 98% human and 2% bird. They grew up in a place called "The School" where they underwent extensive experiments and in their opinion ...  Read the complete review
