The Sunday Philosophy Club - Alexander McCall Smith ... book is written by Alexander McCall Smith best selling author of the "Number One Ladies Detective Agency" stories. However this novel is not set in Botswana but instead in my home town of Edinburgh. I have not read any of his books previously but did see the TV adaptation recently and found it to be a nice charming programme so was interested to see what this book would be like. The story is based around the main character Isabel Dalhousie a well to do South Edinburgh lady who is also the editor of a philosophy journal.
