As part of my son's ever expanding collection of books, my mum showed me a selection of some books she had for me when I was a child. One of these sets of books is the 'Meg' books, a collection of books written in the 1970s by Helen Nicoll, telling of the adventures of a witch named Meg. Meg At Sea tells of Meg and her black and white cat Mog as they are accompanied by Owl, who is white, on a day at the sea. They are by the beach and decide to go sailing, but there is no wind. I went into Aylesbury library and discovered they were selling some of their excess books .I bought several books including MEG AT SEA. The library were selling it for 40p. New it costs about £5. I bought it to add to my grandsons growing library Ok so he was only 9 months old. Now at three with a seaside holiday last year and one in the summer this year he enjoys looking at and being read this book This story was first published in 1973 I have read this story to lots of children and it is as good now as it was when I first read in 1973 yes I have been working with children that long.
