Barbara Erskine is my fave author. Her books are exciting and very well written and researched. Midnight is a lonely place is one of my favourites, not as long as the others but a great story. The story:- Writer Kate Kennedy splits with her writer boyfriend (Jon Bevan) over her sucess. Money troubles see her flee to the countryside of essex ot be alone and write her book. The Lindsey family are renting out the family cottage to Kate. The youngest of the family Alison, a headstrong teenager, starts excavating a dig on the beach near the cottage.
