genre underneath the one you are viewing; this is how I came across Kiss of Midnight. A vampire romance and the first in the Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian, skipping reading the reviews (due to rushing as I had to go out) and with a quick browse over the summary, I decided to give it a go. Kiss of Midnight is a paranormal romance story that focuses on a photographer called Gabrielle and the leader of the vampires, Lucan. It's the first book in the series so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but I did have high expectations, especially because my favourite writer J.R. Ward is quoted on the front of the book saying that it's a good book but I was very disappointed. The plot is fairly typical of the genre and contains nothing unique and doesn't even give a new angle on a very popular storyline.
