genre underneath the one you are viewing; this is how I came across Kiss of Midnight. A vampire romance and the first in the Midnight Breed Series by Lara Adrian, skipping reading the reviews (due to rushing as I had to go out) and with a quick browse over the summary, I decided to give it a go. Photographer Gabrielle Maxwell agrees to join her friends as they head to a new club in Boston after her gallery opening. As the club gives Maxine a menacing impression and tired anyway after the nights events she decides to leave. Kiss of Midnight is a paranormal romance story that focuses on a photographer called Gabrielle and the leader of the vampires, Lucan. It's the first book in the series so I wasn't sure exactly what to expect but I did have high expectations, especially because my favourite writer J.R. Ward is quoted on the front of the book saying that it's a good book but I was very disappointed. The plot is fairly typical of the genre and contains nothing unique and doesn't even give a new angle on a very popular storyline. It's basically about Gabrielle, who thinks that she's an ordinary human being but then discovers she's actually a breedmate, one of the few humans who can breed ...
