This book is a fairy tale. Once upon a time there was a football team who lived in the shadow of their big horrible neighbours. No one rated the teams chances of winning their league, and rated them 20/1 to do it and second fasvourites to go down. The team didn't care, and they beat one of their horrible neighbours in a friendly. Still no one else cared. They thrashed all the other teams, went on an undefeated run of 9 games. The big bad press people said "The bubble will burst, you wont be able to cope. You'll get injuries, wont cope with the pitches, suspensions, snipers from the stand" But it never happened and this is what this book celebrates. St. Mirren, first division champs of 99/2000 hence Millenium Champions. This book is basically a collection of extended match reports but a fine read it is. Detailing from the pre season friendlies right through to our triumphant 5-0 hammering by Inverness Caley, the book has it all. Interviews and pictures, the lot. Every match is covered. The team had waited 13 years for a trophy, and this book makes sure you'll never forgot the season that we did it, when the bubble never burst. A great read.
