Star Sullivan - Maeve Binchy

Rating:
centres around a teenage girl and how she struggles to make everybody happy, Star Sullivan is an okay read that owes its enjoyability to the many characters that it encompasses. Rating:
The newest book from Maeve Binchy which is a selcetion of short stories Maeve Binchy is a no 1 bestselling author, and this is her latest offering, in this selection of short stories she tells tales of star crossed travellers, house sitters who can change your life forever, girls holidays to greece with surprising consequences and chance encounters at airports bringing together unlikely people. These stories were easy to read, however, Maeve Binchy usually has an uncanny knack in bringing you into the perosns life that she is talking about, you generally feel part of it, i feel the magic has been lost in these short stories, purely because they are short, too short, ...

I had never read a Maeve Binchy book before ,despite them being very popular, so when I saw `The Builders` in my local library I thought I would try it .As this is a short story book I decided it would be an easy way to get to know Maeve Binchy as an author rather than begining with a longer book. I was not disappointed as I really enjoyed the book. The story is about Nan Ryan who is like many older ladies these days , living alone after separating from her husband many years ago. She brought up three children alone going out to work to provide for them. The children have all grown up and left home and only come to see Nan when they want something, Nan knows she gets ...
