Advantages: scary..scary...scary
Disadvantages: cover all mirror at night!
I read this a while ago, after picking it up from a boot sale for 20p. Defiantly a good bargain. The Mirror is about a Screenwriter Martin Williams who is obsessed with "Boofuls", a 30s Hollywood child actor who died a horrific death. He would do anything to make a movie about "boofuls" and can't believe his luck when he stumbles on the mirror that has seen it all from his idols house at an auction. But this mirror has seen and heard many things, more than the human eye can imagine.... Strange things start to happen and Martin unleashed the hell within. Soon people are swapped, the mirror version for the real person, and no one can get out. Martin's very life is at stake. It is really a horror version of Lewes Carolls "Alice though the looking glass" and Graham Masterton also uses and refers to the idea behind the book..... Did Lewes Caroll know something about the mystical abilities of mirrors? Do all the old wives tales carry an element of truth about breaking a glass is unlucky, and mirrors see all.?..... You'll have to read and find out. If you like James Herbert and John Saul you will like Graham Masterton. Not quite the same writing style but equally horrifying! I've read quite a few Graham Masterton and I enjoy them, so watch this space...
